Suzanne Hawkins CII

Career background

After a few varied career changes over the years including working in the Security, Entertainment and Fitness Industry, I started my insurance journey in early 2016 underwriting Horse Insurance policies at an independent, specialist brokers. I soon progressed into the commercial side of the Equine Industry where I found my love of commercial products.

This then lead me to move away from the niche of the Equine Industry and broaden my commercial knowledge working for a local, independent brokers specialising in Property Owners and the Hospitality Industry as a Commercial Account Manager.

The pandemic caused me to re-evaluate my work life balance and my career goals which led me to Hugh J Boswell in early 2021. Being from Norfolk originally but now living in Essex, it was nice to get back to my hometown.

Why Hugh J Boswell?

From my first interactions with the company, I straight away realised that HJB wasn’t your normal brokers and that their passion and care for their clients left a lasting impression with me. We also share the same core values which made it a very easy decision for me accepting their offer to join the team. Having been with the company for some time now, I still remain impressed by their forward thinking, proactive approach to broking and the support they offer not only their clients but their staff too.

Interests

I have a horse called Fish who takes up most of my time as well as a Spaniel called Rosie which can often be seen sneaking into online meetings. I love eating out which also means I spend a lot of time in the gym to try and balance it out. I have just started a new training programme in preparation for my first Strongwoman Competition which luckily also involves a lot of eating!
