Career Background
My first job was as a Personal Lines Underwriter at Aviva for 4 years. This gave me a very good base understanding of insurance.
I then progressed to the role of a High Net Worth Underwriter which meant I was dealing with often complex and large household and motor cases from the insurer side. This gave me an excellent understanding of risk and risk management.
After 4 years as a High Net Worth Underwriter, I was then promoted to a Literature Consultant role within Aviva which involved looking at the processes of different areas of the business and the policy documents which were received by brokers and clients. The purpose of this role was to give efficiency around the business, but to also provide professional and clear information to client and insurers.
I was then approached by Marsh and was a Commercial Account Handler there working on large FTSE 100 companies. This was significant in building up my Commercial Insurance knowledge over a 4 year period at Marsh.
After 4 years at Marsh, I was approached by Hugh J Boswell. During my time at Hugh J Boswell, I have worked with large corporate client’s and Private Schools and Colleges. This again has given me a wide knowledge of Commercial Insurance. I have also built strong relationships with clients and secured excellent terms and premium for client’s on numerous occasions.
My current role is a Broker Development Manager at Hugh J Boswell, this role takes on the training needs for new and existing staff and looking at our processes to ensure we are providing the best possible service to our client’s.
In total, I have worked in insurance for 16 years and as noted above my experience has been extensive in broking, but also within a variety of different roles . This has given me an extensive overview to understand client’s needs, negotiate the best terms and premium and the ability to train staff to a high level.

I am a keen Norwich City fan for 25 years for my sins and have season ticket holder.
If any spare time allows, I like to read and play sport.
